The News
Just a quick note to follow up on what I announced tonight at the Scout meeting along with the latest on wildfires in Palo Pinto and surrounding areas. We are going to keep the upcoming campout on the calendar. We will probably change locations, and maybe even the theme. Unless a large amount of rain falls on Worth Ranch in the next 8 days, we do not think it would be prudent to even light a match in the area. The staff and I are considering a number of options and alternate locations. As of about 11:00 pm tonight, the winds have reportedly died down and the fire has moved east of Worth Ranch. The fires had crossed the Brazos and were heading towards downtown Palo Pinto before they turned east. As you know, Worth Ranch is between the river and downtown. The situation appeared dire during our meeting tonight. The latest UNCONFIRMED reports have the fire lines holding with Worth safe for the evening. Please keep the firefighters and volunteers in your hearts and prayers tonight and tomorrow as they continue to work to contain these fires. Mr. Turner
