The News
Sorry for no updates over the past few days even IT people have computer issues from time to time. For any Scouts that need service hours (which is everyone, right?), there are two opportunities coming up. This Saturday and next Saturday, I will be helping Cub Scout Packs with their Pinewood Derbies. This Saturdays event is at 9:30 am at Arborlawn UMC in the SAM building (the old Scout office). Come in your full uniform. I will send the information for next weekend later. One note of advice for service hours - since there are no high school juniors in the Troop this year, there will be fewer Eagle projects scheduled over the next 6 to 12 months. If there are fewer Eagle projects, then you should jump on the chance to get the service hours where you can. Have a great weekend and for those that are off on Monday, take advantage of the time to look at the various merit badges Scouting has to offer. The following is a link to an unofficial site that has a ton of information about merit badges - http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/Boy_Scouts. Parents, one of my goals this year is to expand our Merit Badge program. If you have a talent or skill in one of the merit badge areas, I would love to hear from you. Thanks, Mr. Turner
