The News
The permission slip and poop sheet are available on the front page of the website (www.troop17.net). Please remind your boys to bring their signed permission slip tonight with $27 cash for the campout this weekend. As most of you know, the TCU and Fort Worth police departments made multiple arrests in the TCU area last week following a 4 month drug sting. If you read through the arrest warrants, they made drug purchases in our neighborhoods... at the Kroger, at Macys, on the TCU campus, at houses a block from McLean 7th/8th, 3 blocks from Tanglewood, and near the Scout Lodge. Most of the purchases were small amounts from what sound like "enterprising users". I think that is the key point though...the drug users are here, in our community. Our boys are being exposed to this now, or will be as they get older. With that thought in mind, I will be discussing this at the Scout meeting tonight. I think as adult leaders it is our responsibility to address this with the boys. Thank you, Mr. Turner
