The News
St. Stephen Presbyterian has invited everyone to a very special service this Sunday (10/16) at 11 a.m. The Kirkin of the Tartan recognizes the Presbyterian Churchs Scottish heritage. The ceremony will include a procession and blessing of the tartans, the patterned wool commonly associated with the traditional Scottish kilt, as well as local bagpipe legend Bob Richardson and his band. The sound of Bob Richardsons bagpipes with the Dan Garland organ fills the building with the music of their Scottish tradition. The ceremony represents the coming together of warring Scottish clans under the auspices of the church, or kirk. Following the service will be the annual Kirkin Luncheon. For those with a strong stomach, the traditional Scottish dish, known as Haggis will be served, and for those less adventurous, there will be other options as well. This is not an official Troop event so Scout uniforms are not necessary. The event is open to anyone wanting to attend. Thanks, Mr. Turner
